Features
Servers
Add Minecraft servers to the list, change address and edition, publish a public status page and remove servers again.
Every Minecraft server the bot should know about is in your Discord server's server list. An entry only needs a name. You can add the address and the plugin connection later.
Set up
- In the dashboard, open "Servers" and click "+ Add server".
- Enter the name, for example
Survival, and the address, for exampleplay.example.eu. - Click "Next". The server is now in the list.
- Pick a chat channel to connect the plugin right away, or click "Skip, connect later".
- Run
/server add name: Survival address: play.example.eu. - Add
channel: #minecraftto connect the plugin in the same step.
How to connect the plugin or mod is explained under Chat sync.
Settings
In the dashboard, open the server, click "Edit" next to "Details" on the "Overview" tab and then "Save". In Discord, use /server settings.
| Dashboard | /server settings | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Name | name | What the server is called in pick lists and commands. Up to 60 characters, once per Discord server. |
| Address | address | Domain or IP the bot pings. Internal addresses such as 192.168.0.10 aren't accepted. |
| Edition | edition | Java or Bedrock. Only needed when the address serves both. |
clear | Removes the address or the edition, the server stays |
/server settings server: Survival address: mc.example.eu/server list shows all servers with address, reachability and connection. /server show server: Survival shows one.
Under "Servers" you also set a "Default address". /status and other commands use it when no address is given.
Listed or connected
A server that's only in the list gives you what a ping to its address returns: status, player count, version. That's enough for Displays and the status page.
A server is connected when the plugin or mod runs on it with a token. Only then do chat, Console and Whitelist work, and the bot knows the full player list.
The dashboard shows the state next to each server:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "No plugin" | Only in the list, no connection created |
| "Never connected" | Token created, but never used |
| "Connected" | The plugin checks in |
| "Offline" | The plugin was connected and has stopped checking in |
| "Disabled" | The connection is switched off under "Connection & chat" |
Public page
Every server with an address can get a status page that needs no sign-in. This is only available in the dashboard.
- Open the server and click "Edit" next to "Status page" on the "Overview" tab.
- Enter a "URL name", for example
survival. - Click "Publish".
The page is then at /s/survival. Below it you'll find a badge with Markdown to copy, for a README for example. "Unpublish" takes the page down.
Public: status, player count, version, address and history. The player list, the Discord server and the whitelist stay private.
With a status page, the server can also be listed in the directory: "Overview" tab, "Directory", "Show in directory".
Remove a server
- Dashboard: "Overview" tab → "Remove server", then confirm.
- Discord:
/server remove server: Survival.
Problems
The address is refused
The bot only accepts addresses that can be reached from outside. It refuses private addresses such as 192.168.0.10 or localhost and domains that don't resolve. Enter the public address or leave the field empty.
The server name is taken
Each name can be used once per Discord server. Pick another one, for example Survival 2.
"Publish" can't be clicked
The server has no address. Add one under "Details".
The URL name is taken
URL names are shared by all servers on MC-Sync. Pick another one, for example survival-eu. It needs at least three letters or digits.
The server shows "Never connected"
The token isn't in the Minecraft server's config yet, or the server wasn't restarted afterwards. See Chat sync.
